EXPERIENCE IN E.N.T.
OUTSIDE BANGLADESH:
I have done D.L.O. (Eng), F.R.C.S. (E.N.T.) from both Ireland and Edinburgh. Besides Bangladesh, I worked both in the United Kingdom and in the Irish Republic. In Ireland I worked in the "IRISH TRAINING PROGRAMME IN OTOLARYNGOLOGY/ HEAD & NECK RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY", a three year training programme at registrar level, sponsored by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Before that in U.K. I worked as SHO in Southend General Hospital and in Derby Royal Infirmary.
IN BANGLADESH:
After coming back to Bangladesh I joined BIRDEM (Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders) as the head of the ENT department. I designed, founded and organized the ENT department here. This department was planned, founded and organized by myself after I came back to this country from Ireland in 1997. Besides myself there are one registrar, one assistant registrar and four medical officers. It has microscopes both in the theatre and in the OPD. Endoscopes both rigid and fibreoptic are available in the OPD. I started Endoscopic Sinus Surgery in this country. Microsurgical procedures in the ears and all major head & neck surgeries are routinely done in this department. We also deal with all types of ENT emergencies. It is to mention here that I am doing all sorts of routine as well as complicated procedures in ENT of almost all types on a regular basis independently without any help for the last seven years Other than routine operations, my operative experience is summarized as follows.
